Ranking rules

How today's Spot the Difference and Hidden Objects runs are timed and ranked, exactly as the server does it.

Everyone gets the same puzzle

Same date and level means the same painting and the same differences for everyone. The date changes at midnight Korea time (UTC+9).

Spot the Difference has 5 differences on Easy, 7 on Medium and 10 on Hard. Hidden Objects asks for 6, 8 and 12 objects.

The ranking server keeps the time

When you press Start, the ranking server (ranks.gwirae.com) issues a start ticket and notes the time. When you finish, your browser sends the ticket back and the server subtracts. The on-screen clock is just for you.

The clock keeps running if you step away. Refreshing doesn't reset it.

If this browser already finished today's puzzle or showed its answers, replays of that puzzle aren't sent. You already know where everything is.

Wrong taps

Tapping a spot that isn't a difference locks the pictures for 3 seconds. Those 3 seconds aren't added separately; they're simply part of the time the server measures.

Tapping a spot you already found doesn't count as wrong.

Your wrong-tap count shows on the result screen and in this browser's records. It isn't sent to the ranking server.

Runs we don't accept

Inhumanly fast runs. We allow 1 second per difference or object, so Spot the Difference runs under 5, 7 or 10 seconds and Hidden Objects runs under 6, 8 or 12 seconds are rejected.

Runs with no start ticket, a used ticket, or a puzzle from another day.

Runs where you showed the answers, and past puzzles, are never sent.

Helpers

Show me one is a helper subscription slot. It isn't for sale right now.

Runs that use a helper go on the same leaderboard with a helper mark. We don't hide them or split them off.

What this can't stop

The positions of the differences are inside this page so it can draw them. A program that reads them and taps slowly like a person can't be told apart. The server only sees time.

Names come only from Gwirae accounts. Without an account you're listed without a name.
